62. The Color Purple by Alice Walker
In this week’s episode, Kayla and Taylor discuss Alice Walker’s 1982 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Color Purple. Topics include spring cocktails, the Audacity of White People (and Men), and a well-deserved ending. Plus, we find out what Kayla’s Roman Empire is.

INGREDIENTS:
1 oz Empress 1908 Indigo Gin
1 oz fresh squeezed lemon juice
Splash of honey
Lemon lime soda
INSTRUCTIONS:
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add the gin, lemon juice, and splash of honey. Shake until chilled.
Strain into a coup glass. Add lemon lime soda, leaving a little bit of room.
Top with the Empress Gin to create an ombre effect.
